What is Parental Alienation Syndrome?

This syndrome manifests when Parental Alienation has occurred. It is insidious and develops gradually over time. It is the outcome of years of brainwashing (Stockholm Syndrome) resulting in alienation from a loving parent. Brainwashing is done intentionally by one parent to alienate the other parent from the child. It is a form of mental and emotional child abuse.  It denigrates the "targeted parent" vilifying them in the eyes of the child causing harm to the child which affects them for a lifetime. There are three types/stages to this syndrome: mild, moderate and severe.

Here is Linda Gottlieb's explanation on her website:What is Parental Alienation Syndrome?

Presently, in my situation, being a partner of a "targeted parent", I believe Ron's children, Shelby and Ronald are type three, the severe stage in their alienation from their father Ron by their mother Jodi, who is a " stage 3 obsessed alienator".  Sometimes there can be a spontaneous reversal of the alienation.  This is Ron's hope for him and his children.  He has never given up hope that some day they will be reunited as they have matured and learned the "truth" of their abduction, their current situation and living arrangements.
